Vic Joinery Supplies started back in 2016 with the aim to be THE local one stop supply shop for cabinet makers, builders, renovators and DIYers in regional Victoria. We opened the doors on VJS headquarters in Geelong and have continued to grow over the last 6 years opening a showroom and purchasing a fleet of trucks. We’re stoked at how successful the Geelong base has been, but we thought it was time to level up and bring our one stop supply shop to the regions.

Today, we’re unveiling the new-ish VJS brand that you’ll be seeing across Victoria and NSW.

The driving forces

My vision for VJS has always been to expand across regional Victoria, focusing on building supply hubs in regional towns so everyone has access to top quality building supplies. It’s important to me that locals buy from locals – so when you call VJS Geelong, you know you’re going to speak to Cat, Ben or Lewis every single time. This old school customer service is what we’re bringing to each new VJS location, because there’s nothing like supporting local people and local businesses. Creating more regional hubs allows us to get more supplies to more destinations quicker than before.

What we’ve been doing behind the scenes

Our first expansion saw the VJS brand hit Shepparton, moving into the old Laminex warehouse. As Laminex moved out of the regions and centralised their distribution centres to CBDs only, we jumped at the chance to grow, applying our tried and tested products and service to another regional hub.

Next, we took a different approach as we set our sights on creeping over the border to Albury and Wagga Wagga. Long standing business owners Peter and Sharyn Cross from PJC distributers had built a strong reputation in the towns. With 25 years’ experience and ready to phase out into retirement, in Feb 2022 we slowly took over operations so we could get to know the locals and make sure the VJS brand would work in the area. As part of the transition, we have kept the current staff, upgraded the technology and brought in the VJS processes – now we’re in a position to grow production, opening a dedicated Benchtop Production plant in East Wagga. Safe to say the VJS take over has been well received by these local communities and we can’t thank them enough for their support over the last 5 months – legends! 

Did you notice our logo changed?

So, the big news is, as we’ve expanded across the border (with plans to go further) we’ve dropped the ‘Vic’ from Vic Joinery Supplies. From here on, we will be VJS Joinery Supplies, which means we needed to update our logo. Did you notice the change?

So, welcome to the new-ish VJS Joinery supplies

Same old VJS, just in more places! We’re pumped to be officially launching this.
This means that more regional towns will have a quick and regular supply of the best building supplies, because you shouldn’t miss out.

We have big future plans – setting our sights on many other regional areas throughout Australia. Here’s to our future together!
